Spring is an incredibly busy time in the garden, and with so much effort going into sowing, growing and digging there is often little energy left for making aesthetic improvements. What you’ll need: An electric screwdriver, compost, plants of your choice

Why not try a range of bright colours to make kids playhouses more imaginative, or add the latest shade of chalk paint to turn an unloved old shed into a shabby chic statement.
