Eleven ground-breaking new garden products have been confirmed as the winners of the coveted Glee New Product Showcase 2019, at a special award presentation organised and run by Garden Trade News.
Selected from hundreds of entries showcased at Glee (10th – 12th September, NEC Birmingham), the winning products were chosen by an expert panel of judges, representing independent and multiple retailers and international suppliers.
Entries were submitted into eleven key garden retail categories, comprising:
- Best Garden Plants, Seeds & Bulbs
- Best Growing Media
- Best Growing Container
- Best Garden Decoration
- Best Tools & Machinery
- Best Landscaping
- Best Leisure & Entertaining
- Best Wild Bird & Wildlife Products
- Best Home, Giftware & Clothing

The 2019 judges – Ian Hodgson – Garden News, Andy Bunker – Altons Garden Centre, Mel Livingstone – Fron Goch Garden Centre, Jane Lawler – Marketing Consultant and GCA Inspector, Tom Grinnall – Head of Home, Blue Diamond, Josh Winter – Planters Tamworth, Colin Weatherly-Mein – GIMA/Greenfingers, Roger Crookes – Pughs Garden Centres and Ex-GCA inspector, Caroline Linger – Crocus and Emma Kelly – Bents – considered each entry on a challenging range of criteria, including innovation, design, quality, environmental credentials, pricing and retail potential – resulting in some hot debates and close runners-up in a number of categories.
