Thank you to the 2021 GIMA Award sponsors

The sold-out 40th GIMA Awards (11th November, Celtic Manor Resort) are set to be glittering night of entertainment and celebration of the best the garden retail sector has to offer. As always, the event is only possible due to the incredible support of the industry it represents, including a host of sponsors made up of manufacturers, suppliers and media representatives. This year, more brands than ever have come forward to show their support for the event through a range of sponsorship opportunities.

Glee – the leading trade exhibition for the garden retail sector which enjoyed a thriving return to in-person events in September – has, once again, been confirmed as the headline sponsor for what is set to be another exciting evening celebrating the best the industry has to offer.

Matthew Mein, Glee Event Director said: “It’s so good to be back at the GIMA Awards. The event is always a superb occasion but this year it is so much sweeter after a two-year absence. We’re proud to be headline sponsors once again, and to continue the collaborative working relationship we have with GIMA.”

This year Evergreen Garden Care will be sponsoring the celebrity host, whilst eBay will be sponsoring both the table drinks and the Outdoor Leisure product award. The Garden Care & Sundries category will also enjoy an individual sponsor thanks to Decco.

Keeping guests entertained between courses will be the Hozelock sponsored Table raffles, whilst the main charity raffle – which will raise funds for the Greenfingers Charity – will be sponsored by recruitment specialist, MorePeople.

Pre-dinner drinks will also be kindly supported by sponsors CJ Wildlife, Onduline and 2019 Sword of Excellence winners, Primeur.

Other sponsors will include suppliers such as Woodlodge, SBM, CM Ventures and Hornby Whitefoot PR.  Trade association support will come from the HTA, GCA and Gardenex, whilst the 2021 media sponsors will be Garden Trade News (GTN) and Garden Radio, Gardenforum, Garden Centre Retail and Horticulture Week.

Guests will also not want to miss out on the bumper goody bag that will be packed full of product kindly donated from Primeur, Flymo, Altico, Capi Europe, Elho, Southern trident, Gardena, Barrus, Westland, and Smart Garden.

GIMA Director, Vicky Nuttall, said: “As always our thanks go to all our sponsors for their ongoing support, especially as we mark our return to live award events as well as the 40th anniversary of the GIMA awards. This year’s sell-out event is set to be our best yet and will feature a special celebrity guest which I know will make the evening go with a bang and provide plenty of laughs along the way. We look forward to celebrating with everyone in November.”

Making the GIMA awards a Covid-Secure Event

Like all live events the GIMA Awards can only go ahead under government mandated Covid-Secure guidelines; guidelines which are in place to protect all involved.

To minimise the risk for attendees, proof of a valid Covid Vaccination Certificate or Covid Pass will be required in advance of arriving at the venue and will need to show proof of double vaccination.  None vaccinated attendees will have to provide proof of a negative PCR and lateral flow test taken within 48hrs before attending the awards ceremony.   In addition, as this event is being held in Wales, all guests are legally required to wear a mask in all public spaces of the hotel, however, once inside the pre-dinner drinks area masks can be removed.

For more information regarding the Covid-Secure guidelines at the 2021 GIMA Awards please visit the dedicated FAQ section on the GIMA website: https://gima.org.uk/covid-secure-event/
