Primeur’s going grey! New products for 2021 will feature next-season’s must-have colour

Primeur, the leading supplier of ultra-tough garden products made from recycled rubber, is extending its best-selling lines for the 2021 season with new additions aimed at gardeners who are seeking to style-up outdoor spaces by introducing tones of fashionable grey.

From interior furnishings to exterior home improvements, the colour grey is continuing to rise in popularity, dominating surfaces from wall coverings to kitchen units, tiling, cladding, doors and windows – while the trend for cool, contemporary shades of grey is witnessing unprecedented popularity in the nation’s gardens, too.

Put your best foot forward – in grey!

Primeur’s Recycled Rubber Stepping Stone collection, made from former tyres, has gone down a treat among eco-friendly gardeners. Now, the company is bringing out its best-selling stepping stone – Railroad Tie (25x60cm) – in on-trend grey for 2021 (pictured, left).

Primeur’s Jenny Douthwaite said: “Grey is the must-have colour in UK homes and gardens. Previously, our top-selling Railroad Tie stepping stone was only available in Earth, so adding a grey option for the new season will help gardeners to ‘get the look’ while doing their bit to help divert materials from landfill by putting recycled rubber to great use in the garden.

“As with the entire recycled rubber collection, the new grey Railroad Tie stepping stone has been engineered for all-season durability – recycled rubber garden products are mould and mildew resistant, non-toxic and they won’t fade, stain or rot. Plus, they’re easy to install as the stones are virtually indestructible and will not crack,” Jenny added. Railroad Tie stepping stones in grey will be available in limited quantities at stockists from 1st September, priced at £9.99 each.

Bring your borders bang up-to-date

Installing border edging can add a new dimension to gardens, with Primeur’s Recycled Rubber Border Collection offering a lightweight, flexible alternative to heavy, easily broken concrete edging. Now, to satisfy demand for grey in 2021, Primeur has an addition to its popular Ultra Curve EZ Border: the best-selling brick effect border in fashionable grey.

Previously only available in Earth, the 122cm-long Brick borders will be available in grey in heights of 9cm or 15cm, helping gardeners to add a cutting-edge look to flower borders and vegetable beds.

Primeur’s Jenny Douthwaite said: “The addition of recycled rubber border edging can instantly transform the appearance of gardens, while the natural flexibility of our rubber allows borders to curve and flow around existing lines of outdoor spaces – a process that would have previously been impossible using traditional concrete edging materials. The addition of grey to our ever-popular Bricks borders will provide a contemporary, manicured look to planting, whether beds are filled with herbaceous perennials, colourful bedding plants or home-grown fruit and vegetables. Recycled rubber borders have been designed to withstand all weather conditions, so gardeners can relax in the knowledge that they’re easy to maintain and won’t crack, rot or attract mould or mildew.”

Ultra Curve EZ Borders in grey will be available from Spring 2021. The 9cm brick-effect border has an RRP of £11.99 while the 15cm border carries an RRP of £16.99.

Recycled rubber – helping to protect the environment

  • Primeur’s innovative garden products are made from recycled rubber tyres, which would have otherwise taken 80 years to decompose if dumped into landfill.
  • Some 5.1 million tonnes of tyres were produced in the EU in 2018. Primeur is currently repurposing more than 5,000,000 tyres each year.
  • A tyre contains more than 200 ingredients, but 6kg of rubber crumb can be recycled from a single tyre and transformed into durable and stylish garden products.
  • Recycled rubber garden products are virtually indestructible, making them ideal for gardens where children and pets play.
  • All of Primeur’s recycled rubber products are non-toxic as well as being lawnmower and nylon cord trimmer safe – perfect for use in gardens, play areas and on allotments.
