Market leaders in aquariums and fish keeping sundries, OASE has reason to celebrate as the brand has been awarded not one, but two exciting new product awards at the recent AQUA 2021 exhibition.
As the UK’s dedicated and largest water gardening, aquatic and reptiles trade event, AQUA is home to a wide selection of leading and innovative companies. Each year AQUA hosts a hotly contested New Product Award programme, and the 2021 event was no different. With nine product categories to choose from, and judged by a panel of independent retailers, the awards are an accolade that significantly boost a brands profile, which is why scooping two means the world to OASE.
The first award to join OASE’s trophy cabinet at AQUA was the Freshwater Equipment & Aquaria award. The prize was awarded for OASE’s CrystalSkim Aquarium Skimmer range. This new range of skimmers – designed to provide a clear water surface for tanks ranging from 350L to 600L – utilises a floating ring to help clearly indicate when maintenance is required whilst the integrated basket or “baby saver” offers peace of mind that fish are protected from becoming trapped in the system.
Talking about the CrystalSkim range the judges said: “It’s a well-built, solid piece of equipment with an acceptable price point. It feels new and innovative. An outstanding winner of this category.”
OASE’s second award win was within the Reptile category thanks to the incredible design of its biOrb EARTH vivarium.
These fully automated vivariums are designed to take the hobby of vivarium-keeping to the next level, providing all the kit required to match the habitat to the needs of the reptiles or amphibians. All biOrb EARTH units are controlled via a mobile phone app, where users can create a fully self-controlled atmosphere with minimum effort, adjusting the light spectrum, humidity, temperature and ‘rain’ needed to allow their habitat to thrive.
It was this ease of use that appealed to the judges with them remarking: “This is an outstanding vivarium with everything you could possibly need. Every aspect of this product’s environment – temperature, humidity and lighting – is controllable via an app.”
In response to these two award wins, OASE’s National Sales Manager, Andy Bond said: “It’s great to pick up new product awards at an exhibition like AQUA. When we’ve won accolades in the past, they have definitely helped to promote the new launches, so hopefully these awards will give the CrystalSkim Aquarium Skimmer and biOrb EARTH an additional boost in the marketplace. We had lots of positive feedback on the look and appearance of our stand and our wide range of products, including the 230 lines joining our product portfolio in 2022.
