Last weekend one of the most iconic local furniture retailers, Cousins, celebrated its 30th anniversary in true style! Bringing the 80s well and truly back, both its Dudley and Tyseley stores were a hive of activity including special anniversary discounts, face-painting and classic party games for the children, as well as Smooth radio in-store keeping the party theme going with classic tunes.
A true family-business, the Cousins team were on hand throughout the weekend to help customers make the most of the celebratory atmosphere. Company founder Robert Shotton, said: “What a weekend! Turning 30 is such a significant milestone, so it was great to see so many people taking the time to come out to celebrate with us. Footfall was strong throughout the weekend, sales were being made and the stores were filled with laughter from the children who were greatly enjoying the face painting, balloon animals and pass the parcel games. Our thanks go to all those who helped celebrations go with a bang!”
Dedicated to supporting the local community, the Cousins team also used their anniversary to help make a difference to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a special balloon launch. Over the weekend 500 balloons were sold and another 500 are expected to be sold during this weekend’s trading. Together these 1,000 plus balloons will be launched on Tuesday 1st September, providing a poignant moment to remember those loved ones and to help raise further funds and awareness of the tireless and vital work that the hospital undertakes every day.
Robert added: “We’re not quite done with the celebrations just yet. Throughout the Bank Holiday weekend we will have even more exciting special discounts. So if you were unable to join us last weekend, why not pop in this coming weekend for a glass of bubbly!”
