Bromsgrove town centre will be ablaze with lights and love this Christmas thanks to Little Heath Garden Store.
The garden centre in Lickey End has very kindly donated the Christmas tree for Bromsgrove’s annual Lights of Love fundraising campaign for the Primrose Hospice.
Every year people from the town remember lost loved ones by dedicating a light on the tree in their memory. The campaign last year raised £35,000 of funds for the hospice which supports patients and families living with a life-limiting illness, across North East Worcestershire.
The tree is proudly on display outside Asda in Bromsgrove and visitors will find a remembrance book there where they are able to make a named dedication and a book will also be at Bromsgrove Methodist Church from the 18th November for the festive period.
Little Heath Garden Store manager, Neil Stevens said: “For the fourth year running, we are honoured to have been asked to donate a Christmas tree to such a worthy cause. Our local community is at the heart of what we do and the Lights of Love campaign is important to Bromsgrove as it gives them an opportunity to remember people they have lost but also to give thanks for those people they love and care about.”
Primrose Hospice Fundraising Manager, Emma Williams said: “Lights of Love is a very special campaign for us at Primrose, it’s an opportunity for family and friends to remember a loved one by dedicating a light to them on one of our Christmas trees in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Rubery. Their names are placed in remembrance books around our trees for family and friends to visit throughout the festive season.
“In return, we ask for a donation to Primrose Hospice, allowing the hospice to continue its vital work. We support patients living with life-limiting illnesses, and their families and the hospice must raise over £1.75 million per year, to continue to provide essential services free of charge. Each year, the Lights of Love appeal is hugely successful in raising these crucial funds.”
Little Heath will be once again hosting a free grotto instore with voluntary donations going towards Primrose Hospice and Greenfingers Charity. The Enchanted Forest themed grotto will be open from 11am – 3pm every weekend from Saturday 25th November, and then every day from Monday 18th December. Lucky children will get the chance to meet Santa Claus and will receive a free certificate and sticker set.
The children of Bromsgrove will also have the opportunity to have Breakfast with Santa on the first three Sundays of December (3rd, 10th and 17th) and the 23rd and 24th December. There will be fun and games with both Santa and his elf and a Christmas gift for every child. Tickets are £9.50 per child/adult and booking is essential instore or online.
