Harrison Clark Rickerbys takes giant welly on a tour of its four Three Counties’ offices, thanks to the help of Gloucestershire business, Green Farm Seeds
On Friday 7th November 2014, a giant three metre tall welly could be seen on a tour of the Three Counties to raise awareness of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution’s (R.A.B.I.) annual Welly Week campaign, which began on 1st November 2014. With the help of Gloucestershire business, Green Farm Seeds, leading law firm, Harrison Clark Rickerbys, took the welly on a tour of its four Three Counties’ offices, based in Worcester, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Cheltenham.
Staff across the firm’s offices also sported their wellies along with their office attire to raise money for the national farming charity, which provides support to those in difficulty within the farming community. The firm was delighted to raise £400 for the charity, who have made grants of more than £25,000 already this year to support farming families in Gloucestershire facing financial difficulty as a result of flooding, disease or personal crises.
Mary Wathen, Senior Associate in Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ Agriculture and Rural Affairs team, said; “This was an ambitious challenge but we really wanted to help raise awareness of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and their fantastic Welly Week campaign. We are delighted to have raised £400 for such a worthwhile cause!”
Mark Davies, Owner of Green Farm Seeds, commented; “R.A.B.I. is a great charity that we have always supported and it has been a pleasure to be involved in this fundraiser.”
Jenni Thompson, R.A.B.I. Regional Manager South Central, added; “We really appreciate the efforts that Harrison Clark Rickerbys and Green Farm Seeds have gone to in order to help raise awareness of our annual Welly Week campaign and are very grateful to them for their donation. One quarter of farming families in the UK live on or below the poverty line but with the support of groups like Harrison Clark Rickerbys and Green Farm Seeds we really hope that this year’s Welly Week will go a long way towards helping give poverty in farming the boot!”
