Jenny Douthwaite Re-elected as President and Simon Davison joins GIMA Council

Simon Davison of Zest Outdoor Living has been voted by the membership to become the newest representative on the GIMA Council.  Simon takes his place alongside 11 other industry stalwarts to guide the leading suppliers association through the next few years.

 

The 2023 GIMA Annual General Meeting, held on 12th May via video conferencing, also saw Jenny Douthwaite vow to continue as GIMA president for another year, supported by Kate Ebbens of Capi Europe in the Vice Presidents role.

Following her re-election Jenny gave a short address saying ‘I’d like to warmly welcome Simon Davison of Zest to the Council and we look forward to working with him’.  She continued ‘My first year as President has flown by and I am delighted to be embarking on my second term. It has been a privilege to be part of such a supportive association with a thriving offering of initiatives and incentives for all the members’

Also continuing in their roles of Secretary and Treasurer will be Mark Butler of Vitax and DLF’s Guy Jenkins respectively.

 

Working closely with the GIMA team headed up by Vicky Nuttall, GIMA Director, the full GIMA Council for 2023/2024 will be made up of the following representatives:

GIMA Treasurer, Guy Jenkins gave a short report on the 2022 GIMA year-end accounts, reporting a profit after tax and depreciation of £55.2k for the year.  Commenting on the strong result, Guy said “2022 saw us continue to rebuild our reserves through increased revenue from membership subs, events & exhibitions whilst at the same time keeping a tight control of costs.  2022 is the first year when the full benefit of the purchase of the Garden Press Event is reflected in our accounts following its deprecation ended in 2021”

Membership of GIMA is open to all manufacturers and suppliers of products to the garden retail sector, with a UK or EU base.
