HWPR Blog – week ending 02/03/18

Another busy few weeks for Team HWPR and February is already over – where does the time go?

So, what have we been up to since we last blogged?   The team battled against the “Beast from the East” and snowy conditions to be at the Garden Press Event which took place at the Business Design Centre in London on 28th February.

Our clients, Woodlodge, Johnsons Lawn Seed, SeedCell®, GIMA, Glee, DJ Turfcare and Greenfingers were all at the show promoting their latest products and initiatives, whilst we were on hand to talk through what’s new and editorial and feature ideas with over 350 visiting editors, bloggers and vloggers.

Our feet didn’t touch the ground throughout the show as Kim met with bloggers to discuss content and promotion of Glee. We also secured some fab summer coverage in consumer media for Johnsons Lawn Seed, plus an exciting show garden opportunity for Woodlodge as well as sample opportunities for Seedcell.

The team were also on hand to spread the word about the industry’s biggest fundraiser for Greenfingers Charity – Garden Re-Leaf Day which takes place next week on 16th March.   Journalists were keen to cover the many FUNdraising events taking place at garden retailers across the country and support the intrepid teams of participants taking on the Garden Re-Leaf Chilterns Walk and Cycle. A fantastic 70 people are currently registered to take part, if you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time to register at www.greenfingerscharity.org.uk/gardenreleaf

Our in-house vlogger Robbie was working the room at the Garden Press Event with his camera and tripod catching up with both the media and the exhibitors.  From info on new product launches to an insight into what editors were looking out for to fill their publications, websites and social media channels this year, the vlog covers it all so head over to our YouTube channel to watch the video. Don’t forget to hit subscribe or leave us a comment!

Post-event the HWPR team hosted a drinks reception for clients and editors which was a great social gathering whilst our trains were delayed by the snow, but also a chance to reflect on what the industry holds for the rest of the year.

We also had a great meeting with Briers recently and we have lots of exciting plans up our sleeves so stay tuned!   Our unrivalled PR expertise in the garden, home and leisure has also not gone unnoticed and has resulted in a number of exciting new business meetings over the weeks to come.  We can’t say too much just yet but stay tuned for news!

Mother’s Day is fast approaching so we have been busy submitting products to the media.  Beefayre’s stunning collection of natural home and body care products has proved popular with consumer media and bloggers alike with coverage appearing in Hello, gifting guides and a huge amount of blogs in the run up to the big day.

The snow may have blanketed the country last week but it will be summer before we know it and gardening season will be in full stride!  We’ve also been busy bunnies submitting our clients’ products for the top gardening TV producers for their programmes later this year.

We’ve also been working with top long lead consumer titles such as Modern Gardens, Your Home, The English Home, Evening Standard and Woman and Home promoting our clients for their summer gardening features.

March heralds the start of Spring so let’s hope the weather warms up soon so we have all have a great season!
