play houseGardening can be a fun, creative and educational experience for all the family – but as children are easily distracted, it can be a real challenge to keep them focused.  To help ensure kids (and adults!) stay interested, Forest, the UK’s most popular timber garden product brand, has further expanded its well loved range of colourful timber planters and playhouses.

Ideal for those just starting out, Forest’s Junior Planters will help to keep them keen whether the intention is to get them growing or just to set up a sandpit.  Each planters come ready-painted in either blue or red, as well as in three different sizes to match different requirements and budgets.

Forest’s Junior Square Planter RRP £66.99The Forest Junior Square Planter Table, RRP £66.99 is the largest, at 50cm high (raised on timber legs) and 75cm square.  This planter is an ideal size for medium sized gardens or patios and can be used by several mini-gardeners – to join together and create their own mini garden.

The Forest Junior Planter Table, RRP £51.99 is the same height (50cm), same length (75cm) – but at only 35cm from front to back it makes it ideal for smaller gardens, patios or balconies.

Forest’s Slotted Planter RRP £15.99The Junior Slotted Planter, RRP £15.99 is a great place for beginners to start – simple, low risk and fun.   It’s also the easiest product to assemble, simply slot the painted timber boards together and you’re ready to start the grow-your-own journey.

All of Forest’s Junior Planters come with smooth, rounded edges and are safe for ages 4+ with adult supervision.  For added reassurance, each product in the range has been independently tested to full European Union requirements (EN71).

Pull out box: What can I grow in a Forest Junior Planter?

You can grow just about anything in a Forest planter – but to ensure success for younger and less experienced gardeners, why not start with popular flowering annuals such as Nasturtiums, Marigolds and sweet peas.  Or try growing salads and vegetables you can eat straight from the plot such as carrots, lettuce, radish and strawberries.  Herb gardens are great value as you often get flowers and delicious smelling plants to harvest, which will also return year after year – try woody herbs like Rosemary, Thyme and Lavender as well as less hardy herbs like Lemon Balm, Marjoram and Spearmint.
