Forest’s Take Me to The Till: a proven retail tool

TMTTT Squircle Stand with Header Board2015SMBeing market-leading suppliers means more than just getting the product right. Supporting retailers with merchandising and POS support is just as vital, and helps leading brands such as Forest to cement long-term and profitable relationships with its customers. One merchandising concept which has helped the company to highlight its ongoing commitment to providing the best possible tools is Take Me to The Till (TMTTT).

Proven sales tool

A 2014 GIMA award winner, Forest’s TMTTT has been helping retailers to effectively sell its range of sheds, summerhouses, pergolas, arches and arbours, without dedicating precious extra space on the shop floor since 2013. The concept of the display is simple:  it is designed to make the shopping experience more convenient for consumers by providing them with a tangible product to take to the check-out for quick self-service and easy purchase.

Additionally, ‘Take me to the Till’ is an entirely fuss free introduction for retailers, making it is easier than ever to optimise sales of Forest products. In fact, of those retailers which have taken TMTTT instore some are reporting a 300% increase in sales of the home delivered range merchandised on the display unit.

Updated designs

Boosting TMTTT during the 2015 season, Forest added a number of design updates and display additions, which have helped drive sales throughout the season.  The latest updates to hit stores include high-level directional POS, new signage for the ‘Squircle’ display unit which helps customers to locate the unit in-store, and promotional ‘wobblers’ that help retailers to clearly communicate seasonal special offers and RRPs.  Additionally, Forest also introduced two-part order pads, enabling those retailers without access to automated order systems to also benefit from access to Forest’s product portfolio.

Currently Forest offers two TMTTT merchandising displays, both of which feature supporting cards which include product information, lifestyle imagery, dimensions and line drawings.

The first design, a moveable merchandiser, is built around a lightweight tubular metal frame on wheels, and can be easily placed in main thoroughfares, against shop walls or free standing.  The second design is known as the ‘Squircle’, and was described at its launch in 2014 as a ‘complete game changer’ due to its tiny 65cm2 footprint which can be manoeuvred around the store to maximise a significant profit per square metre. With the ‘Squircle’ display, Forest has managed to provide a workable retail support solution that saves time for shop floor staff, allowing the maximum amount of profit from minimal effort and retail floorspace.

John Gomersall, Forest Garden’s sales & marketing director said: “Since its launch Take Me To The Till has been praised by retailers for the ease in which it allows them to offer a greater selection of our products without having to dedicate large amounts of precious floorspace or storage onsite. More than this, the displays also help to empower the customers, enabling them to make informed buying decisions which gives them the confidence to make the purchase in store.

“Recent feedback from our retail customers has been incredibly positive. To hear that our units are helping to increase sales of sheds and larger products such as summerhouses and pergolas by as much as 300% is testament to their role as the ‘silent salesperson’. We are not however resting on our laurels and are currently looking at even more ways to update and improve TMTTT, including adding our latest product additions to the mix.”
