A positive forecast from two industry juggernauts, plus a deeper dive into customer and staff retention, and a host of inspiration for confidently moving forward in a turbulent market was the order of the day at the recent GIMA Day Conference (14th March, Wyboston Lakes, Bedford).   

Colin Wetherley-Mein, GIMA Membership Ambassador, has decided to officially call it a day and retire from GIMA, the leading garden retail supplier organisation. 

The UK’s two largest garden centre chains will both be addressing GIMA members at the forthcoming Day Conference being held on 14th March at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire.  

Following in the footsteps of the 2019 wing walkers – GIMA’s Vicky Nuttall, SBM’s Lowri Walker and Evergreen’s Mark Portman – there is a new group of brave people set to take to the skies strapped to a plane, all in the name of the Greenfingers Charity!

The GIMA Awards 2022 has been another sell-out event, as the garden retail sector comes together to celebrate the innovation, people and products that have helped our industry thrive throughout 2022. Earlier this evening, the winners were announced, with Westland taking home a record-breaking eight awards!

Renowned impressionist, comedian, satirist and columnist, Rory Bremner, has been confirmed as the host of the 2022 GIMA Awards.

This year’s GIMA Awards are fast approaching (20th October, Celtic Manor) and, as always, the event is only possible due to the incredible support of the industry it represents, including a host of sponsors made up of manufacturers, suppliers and media representatives. Following another incredible year of inspirational new product development, the 200 plus entries to the 2022 GIMA Awards provided this year’s judging panel with plenty of food for thought. Now, with the judging day complete, we must wait until October 20th to find out who will be crowned winners this year.
