With just a few weeks to go until the winners of the 2017 GIMA Awards are crowned, interested parties are urged to book their place now to avoid disappointment, as tickets are selling fast!

Last week, suppliers and retailers from the garden retail industry came together for a day of fun, team building and networking at the GIMA Charity Golf & Activity Day, raising much needed funds for Greenfingers and St.Richard’s Hospice.

Last month’s Perennial ‘Play the Pitch’ charity football tournament was hailed a success by GIMA Director Vicky Nuttall, President Chris Ramsden (Hozelock), and council member Craig Hall from Deco-Pak.  The event raised approximately £15,000 for Perennial from 16 teams and was hosted by Leicester City Football Club at the King Power stadium.

Last week (Friday 12th May), the GIMA team were over the moon to win silver at the inaugural Awards Awards ceremony. This exciting accolade was awarded to the GIMA team for their continued efforts in delivering the annual GIMA Awards, with the event scooping silver in the ‘Best Event – less than 500 attendees’ category. 

This year’s GIMA Charity Golf and Activity Day dinner will be hosted by Richard Pitman.

A key event in the garden retail calendar, the countdown has begun for the GIMA Awards 2017 (13th July, Celtic Manor). As the trade association issues a call to action for entries, it has also revealed who will be making up its judging panel this year.
